A little bit about Teresa,
Owner and Principal Consultant:
Teresa has over 30 years of experience in the public sector, including more than 20 years in executive management and leadership positions. Teresa provided leadership in multiple arenas including within the local health and human services organization as a deputy director, on a statewide basis as an elected executive board member of the Local Government Agency consortium, at the local level as a First 5 Commissioner and as board president of a number of non-profit agencies. She also provided leadership and general management oversight for a local "collective impact" effort. Teresa has extensive knowledge and experience in program development and evaluation, strategic planning, organizational assessment and performance management.
Key accomplishments in Teresa’s career include:
* The successful implementation of welfare reform that resulted in a significant reduction in welfare dependency and movement toward self-sufficiency for many families in Napa County.
* Innovative response to the Affordable Care Act by launching a community-wide effort to outreach and enroll uninsured and potentially eligible residents in Medi-Cal coverage and to link them to needed health/behavioral health services through partnerships with community based organizations (CBOs).
* As the Local Workforce Investment Area Administrator, successfully negotiated and executed the merging of Napa and Lake Counties’ workforce development areas into one Napa-Lake Workforce Investment Area (Workforce Investment Act).
Teresa received her Master of Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside.
